Lister/dører/vinduer : Lister og dører er bomull. Tak er klassisk hvit.
Hi, I hope it is OK that I write in English. I have just renovated a part of my house and would like help with colours in the stue, kjøkken and gangen. The windows, doors and lists are in bomull. The ceiling is klassisk hvit. The kitchen has not yet been installed. This will have white (probably klassisk hvit) fronts. There will not be any overhanging cupboards. The worktop is in composite material, white with small spots of colour. The island will have an oak worktop. I was thinking of having a colour (could be a shade of white) on the walls in the stue and kitchen, and a shade of grey in the hall (gang). I would like to paint the parkett floor in the whole area and thought of a yellow shade (such as 8054 Sunny Spot). See the photos of the rooms, layout of kitchen, and floor layout with the walls I was thinking of having in the different colours.
Hi
With the colored LADY 8054 Sunny Spot on the floor and wanting a gray color and a lighter color on the other walls I would suggest LADY 10679 Washed Linen you choose and LADY 1108 Lotus.

Hi Line, Thank you for the colour suggestion. I see that the oak benkeplate on the island which covers it and goes to the floor will be «lost» if I paint the floor sunny spot yellow. So I am open to suggestions for the floor and walls. I would like colours that fit together and with the: Lists around windows and doors in bomull. Doors that are bomull. Kitchen units that will be in klassisk hvit. Oak benkeplate around the island. Ceramic benkeplate along the wall with the sink that is a white/cream colour with bits of grey and brown in it. Many thanks!
hi
I would suggest you paint your floor in the light and warm LADY 1276 Soft
On the wall the green LADY 7040 Cypress will be a beautiful tone together with the oak. In the next room I would suggest the light LADY 1931 Kokos Preferably on all surfaces ;)
They are super colours. Thank you. When you see the floor plan, I was going to paint the hall (red lines) one colour, and the stua and kitchen (blue lines) in another. Was your idea of the Cypress green in the hall or hall and kitchen or stua? Thanks again!
Hei
hi
I was thinking the green color LADY 7040 Cypress on the walls you have marked with a blue line.( kitchen and living room) Along with the floor painted in LADY 1276 Soft And the lighter LADY 1931 Kokos or LADY 1875 Sans as the color of the wall with the red line. (hall)
Hi Line, The Cypress is cool. I don't think I am bold enough to have that in both the living room and kitchen. Could that work on only the column (stolpe) in the island, the wall with window in the kitchen, and the wall next to that (area D in the plan)? I like the idea of Kokos on the walls in the hall, and potentially continue that in the living room. Is there another colour that could work in the kitchen, in combination with Kokos and the Soft on the floor, and the oak in the island? For example in the direction of brown, red? Is there another colour that you think can work on the floor, which would be the whole area (in yellow) marked on the plan? I am also looking at the colours of the other rooms. Room C (bedroom) - I was going to have Darjeeling (6236) on the walls. What would you suggest as a colour for the floor? Room G (office) - I was going to have Healing Lavender (20218). Here, I will keep the parkett floor and not paint it. Room B is a guest room. What could you suggest for the walls and floor? Is it better to keep the painted floors the same in the bedrooms (where I will have painted floors) as the hall/stue/kitchen? Thanks a lot for your help!
hi
You can of course choose not to use LADY 7040 Cypress on the entire area, livingroom and kitchen and only choose to paint the walls in the kitchen and the column.
I would also say that you will get a little tougher look by only painting the column in LADY 7040 Cypress and the rest of the wall in the kitchen in the same color as the living room and hallway. Then the column will be eye-catching in the room ;)
If you want to consider a warmer color together with LADY 1276 Soft on the floor, I would suggest you look at LADY 12179 Embrace
As you mention, brown is also a nice color in combination with oak. Look at LADY 10385 Belgian Brown
Both LADY 12179 Embrace and LADY 10385 Belgian Brown can be combined with LADY 7040 Cypress on the column. With multi colors in the room, the kitchen, you connect the three bedrooms in a nice way since they have also each been given a different color.. And the living room and hallway remain as the part of the house that is "calm".
For the room B i would suggest LADY 11175 Adventure for the floor and LADY 8583 Earthy Yellow for the walls.
Together with LADY 6236 Darjeeling will LADY 7386 Pistachio be super cool and nice ;)
Tusen takk Line! You have given fantastic input.
Hello again Line, I need to paint the floor on Wednesday/Thursday and we are not convinced with Soft as the floor colour. The whole floor for the living room, kitchen and hall need to be in the same colour. And I have the white kitchen units, oak island (oak on top and ends of the island) and the bomull on doors and window lists. To start with my daughter came up with the idea of a yellow floor. I thought that was cool and suggested Sunny Spot and then you came with Washed Linen and Lotus. I thought the oak would get lost against the yellow floor. Can yellow work as a floor colour, without it looking like a garage or losing the effect of the oak island? In combination with some grey on the walls (like the Washed Linen or Lotus) or another colour? What other colours could you suggest? Will a light blue or green work on the floor? I have a deadline to have the floor painted by end of Thursday, so I need to decide Tuesday. You are a super help. With such a large area, and the different things it should fit with, it's difficult. Many thanks,
hi
First of all I would like to say that LADY 8054 Sunny Spot on the floor is such a strong yellow color that it will not take away the edge of your oak details. LADY 10679 Washed Linen will be more greyish than LADY 1108 Lotus, a light yellow color.
How about combine LADY 8054 Sunny Spot on the floor. LADY 10679 Washed Linen or LADY 1108 Lotus on the walls except in the hallway where you choose a green color LADY 7040 Cypress or the lighter LADY 7386 Pistachio. Green, yellow, oak is a beautiful combination. And with a light color that calms it down a bit.
If LADY 8054 Sunny Spot is too powerful, but you want a yellow color on your floor, you can also choose LADY 10235 Sommersol which will also provide a contrast to your oak details and the other colors.
Green would also be nice. Have you considered LADY 7040 Cypress on the floor? Combined with LADY 8054 Sunny Spot and LADY 10679 Washed Linen or LADY 1108 Lotus for the walls?
Hi, Thanks again! Your first comment, so I am sure. Do you think that the sunny spot is such a strong yellow colour that it will NOT take away the edge of the oak, or do you think it will? Do you think there is another colour that might work on the floor,? You mention Cypress green, and have suggested Soft. But something else?
If you choose to paint your floor in the powerful LADY 8054 Sunny Spot it will be LADY 8054 Sunny Spot which is the color that stands out in the room. The oak detail will then come in second place I would think. They will work great together, but it depends on what expression you are looking for in the room.
Oak is beautiful with green tones, very light tones with warmth and not last but not least blue colors.
You should look at the floor color in accordance with the color of your furniture. They should have a flow.
Send me pictures of the sofa, carpets and other furniture. Then it is so much easier for me to suggest the floor color in the living room.
Hi Line, Furniture wise, my sofa today is dark grey. I have a spisebord that is white. I am quite free with the furniture as will buy new rugs (rug I have at the moment is in the direction of kokos colour). And I might change the sofa in the near future. So It is really the kitchen that is influencing most right now. That is shown above, with the white (klassisk hvit) units that meet the floor, and the oak on the island that wraps around the ends and top and has the column in it. I see that Sunny Spot is more powerful. I am thinking that Sommersol is a lighter yellow (maybe not the correct way of describing it :-)). Having Washed Linen and/or Lotus on the walls would then be an option. But I am open. The floor is my headache right now.
Hi, I will be getting paint shortly. Any comments to my last reply would be much appreciated :-). Thank you!
We can give good advice on colors that will harmonize on the different surfaces/rooms. You have to decide for yourself whether you want a powerful yellow color on the floor that makes a statement. LADY 8054 Sunny Spot. Or whether you want to tone it down a bit and choose LADY 10235 Sommersol
I would say that a palette with LADY 8054 Sunny Spot, LADY 1108 Lotus and LADY 7040 Cypress would be nice ;)
I think I am leaning towards toning down to Sommersol.
Hi Line, I took the leap and went for Sommersol on the floor. It is yellow :-0. So next job is to choose a nice combination of colours for the walls in the hall, kitchen and living room. Do you think Lotus and Washed Linen are still good options? And for the small bedroom, as it was the first floor I was going to paint, I took a safe option and went for Bomull. Originally you suggested a brown floor (Adventure) and Earthy Yellow on the walls. It is really a guest room, but visible as you pass through the hall. What would be a nice colour there? I have some Ginseng leftover from some previous painting, as an alternative to Earthy Yellow?
So exciting, I hope you send me pictures ;)
I would say LADY 1108 Lotus in the living room together with the light green color LADY 8596 Sunny Green in the kitchen would be a nice combination.
If you are going to choose LADY 8583 Earthy Yellow or LADY 10245 Ginseng in the guest room I would think it would be best with LADY 8583 Earthy Yellow
And because it is a bit muted, then LADY 10679 Washed Linen in the hallway will give a nice transition. Good luck and have a nice weekend.
Thank you so much. By the way, I work in Jordan (Orkla) and am so impressed by the creative and technical competence you have in Jotun, and also my colleagues in Jordan. Helps to make amateurs feel like they master home improvements. Have a nice weekend!
Good morning Line, I will be buying the paint for the walls today. After the input from you and after painting the floor Sommersol, I am leaning towards Lotus and Washed Linen. Because the hall (red marked wall on the floor plan) is dark, I was thinking of painting that Lotus. For the living room and kitchen, including the column, I was thinking Washed Linen. The Washed Linen seems to give a nice contrast with the brown oak, the (klassisk hvit) white of the kitchen units, the ceramic benkeplate, and the yellow floor. Do you think that works?
Hi
I wouldn't combine LADY 1108 Lotus and LADY 10679 Washed Linen
I meant one of those. Because LADY 10679 Washed Linen can lean towards a cooler color. If you choose LADY 1108 Lotus I would suggest LADY 1563 Mørk Strandsand.
If you choose LADY 10679 Washed Linen I would suggest the lighter LADY 1024 Tidløs.
If LADY 1108 Lotus and LADY 10679 Washed Linen are fine in your light, there is of course nothing that says they should not be chosen.
Hi again, That was lucky that I did not buy both paints. But I have gone for Washed Linen which I was going to have in the living room and kitchen. According to your suggestion, then it would be Tidløs in the hall. Does the Tidløs work OK also with the Sommersol floor?
You've probably already painted in LADY 1024 Tidløs, but if you haven't painted yet I would say that LADY 1024 Tidløsis a nice wall color for LADY 10235 Sommersol the floor color ;)
Good morning, Thanks! I have Washed Linen in the living and kitchen now. And I will be painting the hall in Tidløs.
Hi again Line, I think you suggested for the main bedroom that Pistachio would go well with Darjeeling which I was thinking about having on the walls. If you could suggest a great combination of colours for the floor and walls in a bedroom, what would that be? Many thanks, Ian
Hi
Now I don't quite understand what you are asking for. Is it the floor color together with LADY 6236 Darjeeling that you are asking for. Because you don't want to combine LADY 6236 Darjeeling and LADY 7386 Pistachio?
Or are you asking for new colors combinations. in a different room ? To best help you, you need to say what color you have in mind. Blue, green, yellow... Dark or light ?
Hi, I have one option which is Darjeeling on walls with Pistachio on the floor. I was just wondering if you have another combination of blue, green or red on walls and what the floor colour could be.
I meant colours that are calm and suitable for a bedroom.
Hi
Take a look at LADY 1024 Tidløs together with LADY 6253 Sea Mist, LADY 7555 Soft Mint or LADY 4666 Silky Blue. Or LADY 7555 Soft Mint together with LADY 6253 Sea Mist ;)
Hi Line, I went for Pistachio which was your original suggestion with Darjeeling on the walls. I haven’t painted the walls yet. Have a great day. Regards, Ian
