New color for entire apartment

Lister/dører/vinduer : Currently painted in a bright white by previous owner
Dear color consultant, We are currently rennovating our new apartment and would like to use the same/almost the same shades in every room. We have a bright and a dark side in our apartment, I imagine we use the same shades in the rooms on the 'bright side' and the same shades in the rooms on the 'dark side'. So far, I have tried different samples and I love 1928 Sommersne. It represents the perfect balance between warm and cold. However, on the 'dark side' (sleeping and childrens room), 1928 would be too dark for the walls. The foot panels, doors, and windows should be a slight tone darker and shinier, while also not being too warm/cold. Questions: - Wall color: Which colors are slightly brighter than 1928 while also representing the perfect balance between warm and cold? - Foot panels, doors, windows: Which colors are slightly darker than 1928 while also representing the perfect balance between warm and cold? - Foot panels, doors, windows: Alternativly, this color could also be a tiny bit colder without a huge difference to the wall color. We are a family with a baby and we currently restore our classical apartment from 1850s in Copenhagen with beautiful old details and original wooden floors. In the picture you see our living room and the empty but freshy rennovated sleeping room. The old tapestry will be removed, the surface of the new walls will be smooth. We would prefer if small imperfections from daily wear and tear can be wiped off from the walls with a cloth. Question: Do you have any recommendations on the type of paint? I'm looking forward to your answer and thank you already in advance for your help :)

Hi, if you want a color that is brighter than LADY 1928 Sommersne I would recommend LADY 9918 Klassisk Hvit. For a slightly darker shade I recommend you have a look at LADY 10341 Kalk which is a warm muted beige that goes well with both LADY 1928 Sommersne and LADY 9918 Klassisk Hvit. I would recomment you to paint the walls with LADY Wonderwall, this is a paint that can be wiped off and washed, for the details in wood you should use LADY Supreme Finish. Both these paints come in varying degrees of shine. Good luck :))

Thank you, Line, for your advice. Do I understand correctly that there is no shade in between 1928 Sommersnee and 9918 Klassisk Hvit, which is also neither very warm nor cold? I'm concerned that Klassisk Hvid is too bright. We are looking for an offwhite that is just slightly brighter than 1928. Then we could use 1928 for the doors and windows. I purchased the test paint of 10341 Kalk, and I find it extremely dark compared to the test paint of 1928 Sommersnee. The colour on the sample card looks only slightly darker than 1928 but in reality it is very dark. Is there any colour that is only slightly darker than 1928 while being neither very cold nor warm? We are very disappointed with the colour cards we purchased from Jotun, as in some cases the colour turned out very very different (e.g., Kalk, Reflektion), see images attached.

Hi, I also agree that these color swatches don´t look quite right, did you purchase Jotun´s LADY 10341 Kalk in LADY Wonderwall or LADY Pure Color? From the pictures it almost looks like the color above the darkest swatch is closest to LADY 10341 Kalk, but it is difficult to say for sure based on a picture on a PC screen. If you find LADY 10341 Kalk to be too dark I would recommend you to have a look at LADY 12314 Grey Touch which is slightly brighter. I´m afraid that LADY 1622 Refleksjon can turn a little "pink" or "purple" when combined with LADY 1928 Sommersne as LADY 1622 Refleksjon has a little bit more red in the undertone, which in then can turn LADY 1928 Sommersne a bit "green". If you find LADY 9918 Klassisk Hvit too bright I would recommend you to also use LADY 1928 Sommersne for the details. Good luck with the swatches and color selection :))

Dear Line, Thank you for your answer, I'm very grateful you're helping me with the colour. It's quite tricky :) After seeing our room in a very matte finish, we fell in love with the look. Which paint would we need to achieve that, and what paint would you recommend for the doors, windows and panels? I attached three images of how the walls currently look. Regarding the colour: - Can you tell me a Jotun shade that is slightly darker than Lys råhvid from Dyrup, while being similar cold/warm? - 1 Picture: Do you know which colour in Jotun the round closet to the right could be? - 2 Picture (picture with lions wooden statue): Do you know which colour in Jotun the wall and ceiling could be? - 3 Picture (picture with the creepy painting in the back): Do you know which colour in Jotun the panels and door frame in the front room could be? Hi, it is difficult to say for sure which colors there are in the inspiration pictures behind a PC screen, but I have found some colors that I think are very close. The shades on the various surfaces in the inspiration pictures looks reminiscent of LADY 0552 Tudor, LADY 12314 Grey Touch and LADY 1928 Sommersne. With all of these colors I would recommend you to paint the white details (ceiling, molding, windows, doors) in LADY 9918 Klassisk Hvit. For matte walls I recommend you to paint with LADY Pure Color, LADY Perfection for the ceiling, and LADY Supreme Finish for the wooden details such as the doors, windows, molding and panels. We don´t have the NCS colorcode for Lys Råhvit from Dyrup so I unfortunately can´t help you with finding shades that are slightly darker. Good luck with the project :))
